Can anyone resist a CC Spin? I know I can’t, even though I have very spotty success. I did finish the last one, albeit a few days late. But I did finish!
For the uninitiated:
- Go to your blog.
- Pick twenty books that you’ve got left to read from your Classics Club List.
- Post that list, numbered 1-20, on your blog before Sunday, 12th June.
- We’ll announce a number from 1-20.
- Read that book by 7th August, 2022.
- If you need more information on the Spin go here. If you don’t know and want to know, “What in the heck is the Classics Club?” Go here.
I am a moody reader, so in order of my mood at the moment, here is my list.
- Emily of New Moon, LM Montgomery
- My Antonia, Willa Cather
- Vanity Fair, William Thackeray
- The War in the Air, HG Wells
- Life with Father, Clarence Day
- Innocents Abroad, Mark Twain
- The Mayor of Casterbridge, Thomas Hardy
- Other Things Being Equal, Emma Wolf
- Oil!, Upton Sinclair
- The Egoist, George Meredith
- Brave New World, Aldus Huxley
- Tess of the D’Urbervilles, Thomas Hardy
- The Odd Women, George Gissing
- Mary Barton, Elizabeth Gaskell

I’d never heard of Life with Father but have just checked it out on Goodreads and it sounds like fun! And nearly as short as my own result. Hope you’re happy with it! 😀

So many wonderful choices here! Life With Father is so wonderful, but so is My Antonia and Vanity Fair and any of the Anne books. Enjoy whatever you get in the spin.

Nice list. I’ve read about half and not a dud among them. Hope you get something you’ll enjoy this summer.

Good luck! I’ve only read the Huxley from this list, and that many, many years ago.

I can’t believe I haven’t read it, yet.

Fab list! I loved Vanity Fair so much on a recent re-read that I’m tempted to hope you get it, but it’s so long! I haven’t read The War in the Air so I’d quite like you to get it so you can let me know if I should. 😉 Good luck – whatever one you get I hope it’s a good one!

I do hope I get Vanity Fair, though it is a door stopper. Keep me out of trouble 🙂 I really like Wells and this one looks good.

I don’t think that will be a problem!

Love that statement. I am probably a moody reader as well. I see some old friends and authors. Can’t wait to see what we get!
